Today the villa is open only to hotel guests, but the gardens are open ON REQUEST.
The villa was built in the second half of the sixteenth century for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, powerful secretary of state of Pope Gregory XIII.
In 1873 the owners, thought to turn villa d’Este into a prestigious hotel, classified 5-star luxury.
THE VISIT
The park can be visited only contacting the Villa.
The visit is not guided, but you can stay as long as you like. You must have something (to drink or to eat) at the bar (with splendid lake view)
