Villa D’Este

Located on the shores of Lake Como, one of the most romantic in the world, Villa d’Este is surrounded by a wonderful private park of ten hectares.

Today the villa is open only to hotel guests, but the gardens are open ON REQUEST.

The villa was built in the second half of the sixteenth century for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, powerful secretary of state of Pope Gregory XIII.
In 1873 the owners, thought to turn villa d’Este into a prestigious hotel, classified 5-star luxury.
